A Super Fun & Personal Wedding at Garey House

Some weddings are elegant, some are heartfelt, and some are just plain fun—and this beautiful November wedding at Garey House was the perfect blend of all three. From thoughtful personal details to unforgettable guest experiences, this day truly reflected the couple’s personalities and the love they share.

Bride and groom at the Ceremony at the Terrace at Garey House

A Ceremony Filled with Meaningful Details

The couple exchanged vows on the terrace at Garey House, framed by a wooden arch that they provided themselves. The bride thoughtfully designed and organized every detail, decorating the arch with hanging lanterns that added warmth and romance to the setting. It was a beautiful focal point and a true labor of love that set the tone for the day.

Keeping the ceremony intimate and intentional, the couple chose a small wedding party, with only a Maid of Honor and Best Man standing by their side. A close friend served as the flower girl, adding a sweet and unexpected touch by handing out full-size roses to guests as she walked down the aisle. With a smaller guest count, this gesture felt incredibly personal and perfectly suited to the intimate atmosphere.

A Creative & Interactive Welcome Experience

As guests arrived and entered the Grand Room, they were greeted with a welcome table that went far beyond the traditional card box. Alongside it sat a custom canvas featuring a hand-drawn wreath, inviting guests to participate in a creative keepsake for the couple. Using various shades of green ink pads, guests added their thumb or finger prints as “leaves” and signed their names—a playful “green thumb” fingerprint guest book that the couple will treasure for years to come.

To continue the botanical theme, guests were also gifted plant snippets displayed in small tubes and wooden blocks. Each cutting came from the couple’s own personal plants, making this favor a heartfelt way to say thank you while sending guests home with a living reminder of the day.

Cocktail Hour & Seamless Transitions

Following the ceremony, guests on the aisle tossed small cups of real leaves cut into tiny pieces to create a natural confetti, as the couple walked down the aisle. Then the guests enjoyed time on the patio and in the Grand Room, continuing to add their fingerprints to the wreath and mingling with drinks from the bar while formal photos took place. The flow of the evening felt relaxed and natural, allowing guests to truly enjoy each space Garey House has to offer.

An Elegant Reception with Thoughtful Touches

The reception space was beautifully styled with stone napkins, black plates, water goblets, and wooden chargers, creating a refined yet welcoming tablescape. Each place setting featured a name card, and simple centerpieces tied everything together without overpowering the space.

After cocktail hour, guests were invited into the reception hall where the newlyweds were joyfully announced into dinner. Shortly after taking a few bites, the couple slipped away for one of the most unique and fun unity moments we’ve seen—a hand-casting ceremony. While a little behind-the-scenes help was needed once their hands were in the mold, the couple enjoyed a quiet, meaningful moment together as the casting set, hand in hand.

Dancing, Glow Sticks & the Perfect Send-Off

Once formal dances wrapped up, the energy shifted and the celebration truly took off. The dance floor stayed packed as family and friends danced the night away, joined by foam glow sticks that added to the fun and festive vibe. Those same glow sticks were later used to create a joyful and energetic send-off, perfectly ending the night.

A Photo Booth with a Fun Twist

As the night continued, guests were treated to a photo booth experience unlike any other. While there was a traditional backdrop and photo booth setup, guests weren’t confined to standing still. Instead, they were encouraged to move, dance, and have fun in front of the camera.

Once each group finished their moment, they received a surprise keepsake—an old-school flip book capturing all the moves they just made. It was such a creative and interactive twist, giving guests an instant, tangible memory to take home and laugh about long after the night ended.

A Day to Remember

This Garey House wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most memorable celebrations are the ones filled with personal touches, creativity, and genuine connection. Every detail—from the lantern-filled arch to the fingerprint guest book and living plant favors—told a story that was uniquely theirs.
