A Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding at The Milestone Georgetown
Soft periwinkle hues, romantic florals, adorable four-legged wedding guests, and a little Bridgerton-inspired elegance made Kate and Dillon’s June wedding at The Milestone in Georgetown, Texas, a celebration to remember! As their wedding planner, I had the pleasure of helping bring their vision to life, from the beautiful ceremony details to the simple and elegantly planned reception and a few unforgettable surprises along the way. Their wedding day was filled with personal touches, sentimental moments, plenty of laughter, and even a few Highland cows dressed for the occasion!
A Beautiful Morning with the Bridal Party
The day began in the bridal suite, where Kate and her bridal crew enjoyed a relaxing morning of hair, makeup, and getting ready together. Kate started the morning wearing an absolutely glamorous bridal robe, while her bridesmaids coordinated in adorable blue pajamas. As the ladies enjoyed their time together, all the beautiful wedding details were being set out and prepared for the day ahead. Some super cute details in the bridal suite and with the bride were her adorable personalized Converse shoes, which are always a good idea. Along with the best glass flower dish to store and display her rings for photos and until it was time to walk down the aisle.
Meanwhile, Dillon and his guys enjoyed some time in the groom’s suite before changing into their classic gray suits. And let’s just say, this group knew how to have a good time! With a few comedians in the bunch, there was no shortage of laughter, goofing off, and hilarious moments throughout the morning. Their playful personalities made for some fantastic candid photos and kept the energy lighthearted before the ceremony. The bridesmaids wore different styles of soft periwinkle purple dresses, creating a romantic and elegant look that perfectly complemented the Bridgerton-inspired wedding theme.
A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony with Some Very Special Guests
The outdoor ceremony space at The Milestone was transformed with beautiful hydrangea arrangements lining the aisle and two coordinating floral pieces decorating the ceremony arch. As guests arrived, including those traveling by shuttle from the hotel, they were welcomed by a lovely welcome table before making their way across the small bridge to the outdoor ceremony space.
And, of course, we cannot forget two of the most important members of the wedding party! Kate and Dillon’s adorable pups were incorporated into the ceremony, complete with their very own wedding attire. Including their fur babies was such a sweet way to make the day even more personal. Surrounded by their family and friends, the couple exchanged vows, shared their first kiss as newlyweds, and officially began their next chapter together.

An Elegant Reception Filled with Candlelight, Greenery, and Live Art
After cocktail hour, guests were welcomed into the beautifully air-conditioned reception space, which was certainly appreciated after the Texas summer heat! The reception design was elegant and romantic, featuring greenery and candle centerpieces throughout the guest tables. Ivory napkins completed each place setting, adding a soft and timeless touch to the overall design.
One of my favorite planning details was repurposing the ceremony florals inside the reception space. The beautiful arrangements were brought indoors to complement the greenery lining the staircase and decorate the sweetheart table. Not only did this allow the florals to be enjoyed throughout the entire celebration, but it also helped create a cohesive look between the ceremony and reception.
Another incredibly special addition to the reception was a live wedding painter! Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to watch as the artist brought a beautiful image of Kate and Dillon standing together at the altar to life on canvas. The finished painting was absolutely stunning, captured such a meaningful moment from their ceremony, and will be a great keepsake for the newlyweds to treasure for years to come! Once everyone was seated, Kate and Dillon made their grand entrance down the greenery-covered staircase, officially kicking off the reception fun!
Sentimental Speeches and a Thoughtfully Planned Dinner
The reception included some incredibly heartfelt moments, including a particularly sentimental speech from the bride’s mother's husband. Following this special moment, guests enjoyed their plated dinner, with each person receiving the meal they had selected on their RSVP.
A little behind-the-scenes planning detail that made a big difference was the use of stickers on the guests’ tented place cards. These stickers designated whether each guest had selected beef, chicken, or fish. This simple detail helped the catering team identify each guest’s meal choice and ensured that everyone received the dinner they had requested. It is often these small, thoughtful planning details that help a wedding reception run smoothly! Once everyone had received their meal, the evening continued with more meaningful toasts and special speeches celebrating Kate and Dillon.
A Wedding Cake That Wasn't Actually a Cake!
One of the most unique details of the evening came when it was time for the traditional cake cutting. Except there wasn't actually a cake! Instead, Kate and Dillon had a small wheel of Brie cheese to cut together. Since the couple aren't big cake eaters, this was the perfect way to incorporate their personalities into the wedding day while still enjoying the traditional cake-cutting moment. And to make it even sweeter, their Brie wheel was topped with adorable figurines of their two pups! Their fur babies truly made appearances throughout the entire celebration, and I loved every bit of it.
A Surprise Mamma Mia Dance Party!
After the Brie cutting, the evening continued with the formal dances, including special dances with important people in the couple’s lives. Then it was time to open the dance floor! But little did Kate know, her mom and I had been working behind the scenes on a special surprise. Her mom and a group of friends had planned a Mamma Mia-themed dance performance! A few songs into the open dancing, the surprise began, and it was an absolute hit. Feather boas were passed out to the crowd, bringing even more fun and energy to the dance floor. It was such a memorable moment and one of those surprises that makes a wedding celebration feel so personal. As the dancing continued, guests also enjoyed a fun photo booth, giving everyone another opportunity to capture memories from the evening.
Late-Night Whataburger? Yes, Please!
Because what is better than a little Whataburger after a night of dancing? Later in the evening, a special delivery arrived with late-night Whataburger for the guests to enjoy. And, of course, there were plenty of those delicious Whataburger French fries! The late-night snack was a huge hit and the perfect way to keep everyone fueled as the celebration continued. It was another fun touch that reflected the couple’s personalities while giving their guests something unexpected to enjoy.
A Private Last Dance and Sparkler Send-Off
As the evening came to an end, Kate and Dillon shared one final special moment together. While our team gathered the guests outside and prepared everyone for the grand exit, the newlyweds enjoyed a private last dance inside the reception space. I always love incorporating a private last dance into a wedding timeline. After a full day surrounded by family and friends, it gives the couple a few quiet moments to soak everything in together before the night officially ends.
Outside, guests lined up with sparklers, creating a beautiful glowing pathway for the newlyweds. Kate and Dillon made their way through the sparkling send-off, sharing a few kisses along the way before heading off to begin their next chapter as husband and wife. It was the perfect ending to such a romantic and joy-filled wedding day.
